2025 Ram 1500: A Revolution in Truck Design and Technology

The 2025 Ram 1500 is set to be a game-changer in the world of truck design and technology. When Ram declared 2024 as the final year for the TRX, enthusiasts feared the end of high-performance pickups from the brand. 

However, Ram quickly dispelled those worries with the announcement of the 1500 RHO, a promising successor that aims to deliver a thrilling off-road experience. Slated to hit dealers in fall 2024, the RHO might not match the sheer power of the TRX, but it’s designed to provide plenty of fun for off-road enthusiasts.

Beneath the RHO’s hood lies a robust twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, fine-tuned to produce an impressive 540 horsepower. This powertrain, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive, promises a dynamic performance that rivals the Ford F-150 Raptor. 

While it doesn’t quite match the Raptor R’s 700-hp V-8, the RHO’s advanced suspension system, featuring Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shock absorbers and a specially tuned air spring suspension, ensures up to 14 inches of rear axle travel. The lifted suspension and 35-inch all-terrain tires also grant the RHO the highest ground clearance in the Ram 1500 lineup at 11.8 inches.

In terms of utility, the RHO offers an 8380-pound towing capacity and a 1520-pound payload limit. While these numbers are slightly lower than the standard Ram 1500 and the F-150 Raptor R’s towing capacity, they are still substantial enough for most practical purposes.

Inside, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO continues the brand’s tradition of luxurious interiors. It features rich materials and superior insulation, creating a quiet and comfortable cabin. Available only as a crew cab with a short cargo bed, the RHO comes standard with leather and suede upholstery, along with optional upgrades like upholstered dash panels and carbon-fiber accents. The RHO Equipment Group package even offers massaging front seats, adding a touch of luxury to this rugged vehicle.

The RHO’s infotainment system is equally impressive, with a standard vertically oriented 12.0-inch display and an optional 14.5-inch screen. Both run the Uconnect 5 interface, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and SiriusXM satellite radio. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster comes standard, and options include a 10.0-inch head-up display and a 10.3-inch passenger display. For audio enthusiasts, the standard 10-speaker system can be upgraded to a 19-speaker Harman/Kardon setup.
